WWE Extreme Rules Blu-ray Review
Audio: Dolby Digital 5.1 mix
Aspect Ratio: 1.78:1
Disc Spec: 1 BD
Randy Orton vs Cmpunk Last Man Standing Match: This was a great opener, quite a few weapons used, a lot of good spots and the tempo of the match was excellent, the match went on for 19 mins so it was given a lot of time, the ending to the match was great but I am a little disappointing about the outcome.
Sheamus(c) vs Kofi Kingston U.S Title Table Match: This was another good match, it had a lot of teasers with the tables and told a great story, this is a good match for a 10 min match.
Michael Cole/Jack Swagger vs Jerry Lawler vs/Jim Ross Country Whipping Match: This was horrendous, jim ross is the worst that i’ve ever seen in the ring, cole sucks and so does lawler, the match went on for 7 mins and it seemed like it went on forever, just skip this match.
Rey Mysterio vs Cody Rhodes Falls Count Anywhere: This was another really good match, they brawled everywhere, the pace was good, but the ending seemed out of place, but anyway this is a very good match.
Christian vs Alberto Del Rio WH Title Ladder Match: This is the match of the night by far, this was excellent, so many great spots with the ladder, a very fast paced match for a 20 min match, del rio takes a nasty bump when he misses a legdrop and hits the ladder that was pout on the announce table and ring apron, clay gets involved towards the end and takes a hard shot from the ladder by christian, this busts him open and at the end of the match you see the blood over the ringside floor pouring out of his head, it was cool to see on a PG show! The ending was very memerable, I loved the outcome, christian has worked his ass off in the WWE for 11 years and on this PPV he finally gets the breakthrough he deserves, overall a great match.
Big Show/Kane(c) vs Wade Barret/ Eziekal Jackson WWE Tag Team Titles Lumberjack Match: Who cares about this match, waste of time!
Miz(c) vs John Cena vs John Morrison WWE Title Steel Cage Match: This was a very good main event, this was another 20 minute match and it didnt dissapoint, they used the cage well and was kept at a good tempo, R-Truth interfered at the end and WWE actually made him look important which was nice to see, I wasnt suprsised with the outcome, and I think we all know now that The Rock vs John Cena will be for the WWE Title at Wrestlemania 28.
Movie Quality: 7.5/10
The print is presented in 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 with a 1:78:1 aspect ratio. The WWE has never looked so good on television until it hit HD and now with more and more releases coming to Blu-ray from WWE. This is a vivid and colorful presentation all around showing off how good sports presentation can look on home video. Having watched the DVD version and now the Blu-ray, there are no artifacts or compression as present on the DVD version.
Print Quality: 9/10
The audio is presented in a Dolby Digital 5.1 mix. I can not complain one bit about the audio and how well the PPV sounds with a good surround setup. My one complaint is that this should have been in DTS-HD MA as all high definition releases should be. Entrance music is what stood out very well. The commentary came through the center with no issues sounding clean and clear.
Print Quality: 9/10
- Full episodes of Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown
Special Features: 8/10
During the middle of this show I was not particularly enjoying it, but by the end of the show, thanks to the two great main events, I wound up liking the show. I would recommend seeing the show if you have not, if only for the Last Man Standing Match, the Ladder Match, and the Cage match, all of which were very good.
Overall Rating: 8/10
