Tom Chandler has given up his heroic titles and responsibilities and sought solace and anonymity with his family in a small fishing village in Greece. Meanwhile, Captain Slattery and the crew of Nathan James have discovered that the virus has “jumped kingdoms” and now infects the world’s food crops, bringing humanity to famine. As the ship traverses the Mediterranean in search of a solution that can save the world’s food supply, Chandler encounters his own enemies in Greece. His “hero’s journey” becomes a modern day retelling of Homer’s Odyssey.

Fast-paced action and great writing. After the first few episodes you will not sleep until the last episode in Season 3. Season 4 should be out the summer of 2018 and I am awaiting the premier with eager anticipation. This is a fiction show – the definition of fiction is ‘invention or fabrication as opposed to fact.’ If you want total fact, look for a non-fiction documentary. The show is a breath of fresh air compared to other new shows out there.

Tom Chandler is the one character which always stands out from the crowd. It is the best character in my opinion and Eric played the role extremely well. Loosing him from The Last Ship would be equivalent to loosing 80% of interest if not more, in this series. Although Bridget Regan, one of my favorite actresses, is there yet we will miss his valor, leadership, strategic thinking, confidence on shipmates etc. those can’t be fulfilled by anyone else.

This particular series has become my best TV show and can’t wait to watch the next episode after the current one. One of the core reason of loving this TV show is nothing but Tom Chandler. His attitude, approach, behavior everything seems so perfect for the position and rank he was bearing, was simply outstanding.

Final Thoughts

I highly recommend “The Last Ship Season 4.” This isn’t one of those shows you have to warm up to. Most people will know whether they’re hooked after the first episode. So, if you’re at all drawn to it, it’s worth giving it an hour. But be forewarned: you probably won’t be able to stop.
