drkartzdvdComedy Central has been churning out some quality comedy shows over the years. One of them is ‘Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist’. The show deals with psychologists and their patients. Some of the material can be really good, while at other times it can be rather dry. There are certain sessions that are just pure duds and then there are some that are very good.

We get nearly 2 hours worth of these patient/psychologist sessions. Each session ranges from 2 ½ to 9 minutes long. I enjoyed some of the longer sessions since they were very hilarious. The one that I enjoyed the most had to do with Dennis Leary. I absolutely love this actor and he just goes over having bad times with his kids. Leary is a very funny actor that translates well to the animated world.

This is a very loaded cast of actors that are a part of this Best of DVD. We have Kathy Griffin, Janeane Garofalo, David Cross, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, David Duchovny, Ray Romano, David Chapelle, Richard Lewis to name a few of the celebrities in the skits as patients. We have a total of eighteen celebrities that are patients for Dr. Katz. I would say that I enjoyed more than half of the celebrities as patients for Dr. Katz.

Print/Audio Quality

The print is presented in 1.33:1/1.66:1 aspect ratio. One drawback of this television series is that it has shifting aspect ratios. These shifting aspect ratios at times can be distracting to the viewer. I am not a fan of this approach when it is not presented correctly. Colors are good even though they are a bit more saturated. With this release not being anamorphic, you do tend to see a bit more print damage.
Video Quality: 2.5/5

Audio is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 mono. Dialogue comes through the center channel clear at times, but other times there is some distortion.
